Boston Public Garden
Swan boats are out for the new season. Willows turn green. Flowers are blooming. Mallards, goose, robins , ducklings and many other birds are playing. A nice stroll in Boston Public garden.

Figure Skating Show
Got an opportunity to watch Skating club of Boston's annual Icechips show at Harvard's hockey center. I have never shoot figure skating before, so searched online for settings people used. The venue is not very well lit since it is more a show than real competition. I first set ISO 400, f4.0 and 1/250-320, later also tried ISO 640, even 800. Still wish 1) could sit closer to the rink, 2) has a f2.8 lens, 3) maybe even with a 1.4X extensor. Anyway, only got 10% relatively good ones.

Explore boston north end
Finally the weather shows some hint of spring. Went out with two friends to test our new gadgets.
First stop: quincy market, street performer

Boston harbor

After got a pack of cannoli from Mike's pastry(long waiting line), we had coffee at a nearby cafe. then
off we go Northend.
Following part of the freedom trail, we crossed the charlestown bridge.
An interesting wind indicator post in a small park, Charlestown.

My new toy
Just got a new gadget, a Panasonic DMC-TZ5 digital camera. The things I am looking for when I researched online for my DC.
1) compact, hopefully ultra compact so that I could carry it all the time, hiking, XC skiing...
2) ideally has wide angle side < 30mm
3) ideally more than 4X optic zoom.
4) with image stabilizer
5) good review on low light performance
6) use SD card
7) less than 250USD, got this one from B&H for 249.95, haha.
I am going to play with the new toy these days and will update.
update 1:
1) no optic viewfinder, but has a bright 3"LCD.
2)Video recording can only open with quicktime, had to get a quicktime pro, then convert to avi and open in windows media player
3) 28mm wide angle is good for landscape
4) decent 280mm end even at low light
5) nice to be able to set the slowest shutter limit, and in combination with IS, pictures turned out okay at low light.
6) a little too many options or controls to my taste.
